The Dresden Firefighters are having a breakfast on Saturday January 21st from 7am to 11am at the Dresden Fire Station (175 Lindsley St. E).

Adults are $7.00 and kids are $3.00 for all you can eat. The money raised is going to the Dresden Foodbank.

Santa Claus Parade – Dec. 10

The Dresden Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday December 10 at 6:00pm. Marshaling and judging will be at Dresden Area Central School and begins at 5:00pm.

This year’s theme is: “Toys, Treasures and Traditions”

The parade will start at Dresden Area Central School and end at the Tiffin Memorial Pavilion on St. John St. in the Park. Following the parade, Santa Claus will be at the Pavilion to visit and pass out candy bags for the kids.

Search for lost graves at Uncle Tom’s Cabin

Starting tomorrow, archaeologists from The University of Western Ontario and the Ontario Heritage Trust will begin to search for unmarked graves at Uncle Tom’s Cabin Historic Site in Dresden, Ontario.

The site is home to two historic cemeteries belonging to the British American Institute and the Henson family. Although many tombstones are visible at the two cemeteries, their positions do not always precisely mark the location of the underlying graves.

The Dresden Figure Skating Club welcomes children age 3 and up to learn how to be confident on the ice rink and learn new skills.

Dresden Kingdom Kids

Also known as the Memorial Centre the Dresden arena is open from August to March, and offers a wide variety of recreational activities including skating groups, lessons, and open skates. The arena is also the place to find auctions, tournaments, carnivals, the town fair, and conventions. The arena boasts a capacity of 880 people, and is liquor licensed.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin

Uncle Tom’s Cabin is located right here in the town of Dresden. It is the number one tourist attraction in our area.

A feature attraction in the Underground Railroad Tour, it is the actual site of “The Dawn Settlement”, a place where Uncle Tom (Josiah Henson) provided fugitive slaves an opportunity for a new beginning in the true land of freedom: Canada.

Trillium Trail in Dresden

The Trillium Trail in Dresden is a 2.4km portion of the Trans Canada Trail that winds it’s way through the trees, parks and side-streets of Dresden. Along it’s route are information stops detailing Dresden’s historic landmark’s and notable citizens of the past. Further down the route you find the globally renowned Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

Dresden Raceway

The Dresden Raceway is the only racetrack in Chatham-Kent. It features a 1/2 mile track for harness racing events. Simulcast wagering is available seven days a week. Racing season begins in May.

Dresden Slots
