Uncle Tom’s Cabin

Uncle Tom’s Cabin is located right here in the town of Dresden. It is the number one tourist attraction in our area.

A feature attraction in the Underground Railroad Tour, it is the actual site of “The Dawn Settlement”, a place where Uncle Tom (Josiah Henson) provided fugitive slaves an opportunity for a new beginning in the true land of freedom: Canada.

Trillium Trail in Dresden

The Trillium Trail in Dresden is a 2.4km portion of the Trans Canada Trail that winds it’s way through the trees, parks and side-streets of Dresden. Along it’s route are information stops detailing Dresden’s historic landmark’s and notable citizens of the past. Further down the route you find the globally renowned Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

Dresden Raceway

The Dresden Raceway is the only racetrack in Chatham-Kent. It features a 1/2 mile track for harness racing events. Simulcast wagering is available seven days a week. Racing season begins in May.

Dresden Slots

Dresden, Ontario is the only town in Chatham-Kent with it’s own slots facility. Try your luck at over 100 slot machines, such as Blazing 7′s, Double Double Diamond, Fireball, Reel Gems, Roaring 20′s, Silver & Gold, Black Cherry, Black Widow. The Dresden Slots are located at the Dresden Raceway.

Downtown Dresden Ontario

Downtown Dresden is a truly historic place to visit with many of it’s buildings having been built in the 1800′s. These days, the downtown is home to a great shopping district and makes a great place to stroll about and pick up some special items.
